Leh, Weekend, Indus River and bikes - Life is sorted!

citybycycle

80 kms of flat roads from Leh to Himya, yes that's a luxury for bikers in Himalayas!

We all look forward to the weekend rides, and the wait gets sweeter if you ride on flat roads in Leh-Ladakh. We started from Leh, early morning for a ride to Himya village. The ride is beautiful as you ride along Indus river.

It was hot and therefore we decided to swim in the Indus with chilled water. There are multiple small villages along the way and you get the feeling of Oasis. We stopped at Village Upshi where we had food and refreshments.

We crossed farms with crops ready to be harvested

I must say the dip Indus river was surreal even for us who have been living out here for so long.

It was a nice break from our usual rides in mountains to riding on flat roads where climbing and the elevation were forgotten words. The challenge was to come out of Indus river and ride back to home. But we did manage to click a pic on the way back to home.

Our Bikes

I ride Cube MTB and my friends ride Firefox MTBs.

What is City by Cycle

Ernest Hemingway famously said, “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.”

City by Cycle is an idea to inculcate the culture of cycling in India. Our beautiful country has exquisite locations and what better than a cycle to explore these diverse destinations in each city.

Come and pedal with us to epitome of joy!
